Boys Existence were a Kansas Town, Mo., music group with an intensely enthusiastic, but dissonant audio that sprung from the post-hardcore picture in 1993. The music group began releasing materials on break up 7″ information with other regional clothes Secular Theme and Giants Seat. Counting on a stripped-down audio punctuated by out-of-tune, loud guitars and a ‘calm’ after that ‘noisy’ alternation, the foursome after that released two full-length albums, Young boys Existence in 1995 as well as the out-of-print traditional Departures and Landfalls in 1996. Tagged emo-core by critics and children alike, the music group, made up of Brandon Butler (vocals/acoustic guitar), John Anderson (drums), John Rejba (bass) and Joe Winkle (acoustic guitar), often started their tunes with a straightforward bass line and resulted in the nobs and ditched the drum brushes, accumulating to epic crescendos with screaming, distortion and energy — all in an exceedingly controlled way. Adding examples of crickets chirping, radio static as well as the far-off wail of teach whistles offered the music group a decidedly Midwestern/Americana experience without ever arriving off as folk or nation.
