Boyce Brown

Boyce Dark brown was an eccentric, a rare alto saxophonist who preferred to try out freewheeling Chicago jazz, an erratic person with some outlandish views and, ultimately, among the hardly any monks who doubled (in least briefly) being a jazz musician! He became a specialist musician when he was 17, using drummer Don Carter’s music group in Chicago. Dark brown picked up knowledge dealing with Benny Meroff, Wingy Manone (1933), Paul Mares (1934-1935), and Johnny’s Primary Playboys. Dark brown also led his very own bands and documented with Mares, Jimmy McPartland (1939), and Crazy Costs Davison (some obscure game titles in 1940). Dark brown was located in Chicago throughout his playing profession, mainly leading his very own bands through the entire ’40s and early ’50s. In nov 1953 he followed the name “Sibling Matthew” and got into a monastery, acquiring his vows in Feb 1956. His just date being a head was trim in Apr. 1956 with Eddie Condon’s music group and, although he appears a bit unusual in his somber clothing while keeping a sax (you can just imagine what Crazy Bill Davison believed!), Boyce Dark brown was in excellent type for what will be his last saving. He died of the heart attack lower than three years later on.
