Boy having a Fish focus on a moody mixture of folk-rock and Americana that conjures up pictures of collapsed barns across the highways from the rural north. Located in Ithaca, NY, the group includes Jeff Claus (guitars and vocals), Judy Hyman (electrical violin, viola, and vocal), Rick Hansen (accordion and keyboards), Jay Olsa (bass), and Ryan Cady (drums). Claus and Hyman are founding people from the eccentric bluegrass/alternate rock and roll group the Equine Flies, Olsa and Hansen play in Plastic material Nebraska, and Cady divides his period by carrying out with fellow Ithaca natives Hubcap. Son having a Fish’s debut, Parrots Fly Backwards, premiered in Apr 2004 on Remaining Ear Records, accompanied by I Place My Tongue within the Windowpane in 2011.
