Box of Frogs

Blues-based hard rock combo Box of Frogs reunited guitarist Chris Dreja, bassist Paul Samwell-Smith, and drummer Jim McCarty, all 3 founding members from the famous Yardbirds. The trio re-teamed for the very first time because the Yardbirds’ middle-1968 dissolution to try out a 1983 live day in the London Marquee, as well as the overall performance proved so effective that they quickly founded Package of Frogs with vocalist John Fiddler, previously of Medicine Mind and English Lions. Fellow Yardbirds alum Jeff Beck guested on many tracks around the group’s self-titled 1984 LP, with Jimmy Web page appearing around the 1986 follow-up Unusual Land. Package of Frogs disbanded immediately after.
