Box Elders

Named for a number of black color and orange bugs explained by entomologists as irritating but harmless, the Package Elders certainly are a trio from Omaha, NE, led by brothers Jeremiah McIntyre (guitar and vocals) and Clayton McIntyre (bass and vocals), whose child years house was infested using the insects, a huge selection of which chock-full a snare drum in the area where they rehearsed. Created in 2005, the 1st lineup from the Package Elders included Jeremiah and Clayton’s mother on drums and business lead vocals, but familial pressure and too little discipline regarding memorizing lyrics resulted in her departing the group after a couple of months. The Package Elders became a trio once again with the introduction of Dave Goldberg, who could perform drums and keyboards at exactly the same time. Generating a audio that’s simultaneously natural and infectiously poppy, the Package Elders place their music on plastic material for the very first time having a 7″ vinyl fabric EP from the neighborhood Grotto Information label, featuring the initial “Hole in my own Mind” and a Redd Kross cover. After a small number of additional singles for additional indie brands and a lot of low-budget touring (including a arranged at this year’s 2009 South by Southwest Music Meeting), the Package Elders struck a cope with Memphis’ Goner Information, which released their 1st full-length recording, Alice and Close friends, in August 2009.
