Boris Giltburg

The Israeli pianist Boris Giltburg has combined trained in the core Russian and Western repertory with fresh efforts to expose this repertory to audiences beyond your usual classical spheres. Giltburg was created in Moscow in 1984, and his family members joined up with the exodus of Russian Jews to Israel immediately after. His initial piano instructor, beginning at age group five, was his mom. In Israel he examined using the veteran Tel Aviv pianist and instructor Arie Vardi. That pedagogue was a fixture of worldwide award juries, and Giltburg was schooled in clean reading that appealed to people juries: he had taken second award (as well as the market prize) on the Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv in 2011 and gained initial prize 2 yrs later on the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium, a significant honor. After a disk of Intimate piano sonatas for the Orchid label in 2015, he agreed upon that year using the Naxos label and provides documented Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, and Schumann there, aswell as an record of Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 6 in A significant, Op. 82; Piano Sonata No. 7 in B level main, Op. 83; and Piano Sonata No. 8 in B level main, Op. 84, innovatively ensemble as the “Battle Sonatas.” Vardi’s orientation toward a broader open public — he was popular for his tv programs introducing traditional repertory — continues to be shown in his student’s strategy: Giltburg maintains a blog page devoted to non-specialist listeners and uses his personal photography in lots of of the images connected with his work.
