Booker Newberry III

Vocalist/keyboardist Booker Newberry III was an associate of mid-’70s spirit groups Special Thunder (“Baby I WANT Your Like Today”) and Influence. Blessed January 19, 1956, in Youngstown, OH, Newberry started his professional performing profession in the group Mystic Evenings around 1971. Shifting to Philadelphia, PA, he became the business lead singer from the music group Special Thunder, which also included drummer John Aaron, bassist Rudell Alexander, and guitarist Charles Buie. Putting your signature on with Philly-based label WMOT Information, the group’s one, “Baby I WANT Your Appreciate Today” b/w “I Don’t Treatment What You State,” stirred curiosity and was found for distribution by Berkeley, CA-based Illusion Information. The group documented three LPs, Above The Clouds (1976), Special Thunder (1978), and Horizons (1979, shown the one “I Keep You More powerful,” which visited amount 63 R&B in past due 1979). Newberry became a member of another WMOT Information group, Impact, who’s most widely known for the dance strikes “Provide a Broken Center a rest” and “Rainy Times Stormy Evenings.” The vocalist agreed upon with Neil Bogart’s Casablanca Information in 1983 and his one “Love City” was a high 20 U.K. strike. The Love City LP was released the same calendar year. He in addition has documented for Malaco Information and Omni Information (the LP Have a Little bit of Me).
