Bonnie Rideout was raised on a plantation in Michigan, spent a lot of her child years on Cliff Isle, Casco Bay, Me personally, and studied classical violin in the University or college of Michigan. Her fiddling, nevertheless, displays the musical customs of her ancestral house of Scotland. She also performed using the school’s youngsters orchestra. Enrolling in the University or college of Michigan like a viola main, Rideout soon turned her regions of concentrate. She graduated in 1985 with levels in violin overall performance and good arts. Influenced by Scottish fiddler, Dr. John Turner, Rideout relocated to Scotland where she used many strathspey and reel societies. Veteran Scottish fiddlers Ron Gonnella, Expenses Hardie, and Angus Cameron required her under their wing, revealing her to an array of Scottish fiddle designs. Rideout discovered many music from Scottish farmer/fiddler Jim Falconer and his wife, Katherine. While providing as musician-in-residence at Armadale Castle around the Isle of Skye, she trained herself many music from a series assembled within the 18th hundred years by Patrick MacDonald. A number of these parts were featured on her behalf debut record, “Soft May Morning hours.” Currently surviving in Alexandria, VA, Rideout alternates between single performances and displays with her music group the Bonnie Rideout Scottish Trio, offering guitarist Bryan Aspey and percussionist Paddy Group. Rideout has created four books for Mel Bay Posting.
