Biography
Third Electric’s Andreas Bolz doubled up his surname because of this single task, which since 1997 is continuing to grow to 3 releases of notably high-quality, innovative new-school electro. Comparitively even more uptempo and dynamic than his use Gregor Lutterman as Third Electric powered, Bolz’s single function under his personal name pairs complicated, frequently oddly syncopated rhythms with strong basslines and energetic consumer electronics and synth arpeggiation. BolzBolz’s debut EP, 32nd Lesson, made an appearance around the American label Ersatz Sound, and included the stripped-down floor-rocker “Music” (previously obtainable only on Compact disc). That monitor was also the foundation for his 1st EP on Lutterman’s Electrocord sublabel, Globe Electric powered; “Music Remixes” included reworkings by Ersatz’s Adam Lee Miller (as Plasma Co.) and by BolzBolz himself. Another EP, Envelope Power, made an appearance through World Electric powered in early 1999, and continues to be a number of the finest new-school German electro ever released, a near-perfect combination of floor-ready rhythms and head-scratching songwriting. Furthermore to his BolzBolz and Third Electric powered function, Bolz also information for Electrocord beneath the name Funktaxi, with an EP and an LP (Mild) to his credit.
