Bobby Rosengarden

Bobby Rosengarden was a tight adherent towards the concepts of subtlety and restraint, virtues uncommon in virtually any musician, aside from a drummer. For over ten years, he also led his personal orchestra at New York’s Rainbow Space, and for a long time was the on-stage bandleader during Jerry Lewis’ annual Muscular Dystrophy telethon broadcast. Rosengarden passed away of kidney failing in Sarasota, FL, on Feb 27, 2007 — he was 82 yrs . old.
