Bob Havens

A good trombonist with strong techie skills along with a warm audio, Bob Havens has mainly been heard in Dixieland configurations over time. An all natural musician who originated from a musical family members, Havens performed violin and piano furthermore to trombone as a kid. He performed locally and found popularity for his use George Girard (1956-1957) and especially Al Hirt (1957-1960). Havens became a longtime person in the Lawrence Welk Orchestra in 1960, remaining for over 2 decades and frequently taking part in the Welk Show’s Dixieland section. That “day time job” didn’t bring about his jazz capabilities being diluted, nevertheless.
