Bob Allen

b. 1913, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, d. 24 Apr 1989, Stockton, California, USA. In addition to being truly a ballad vocalist with a wealthy baritone tone of voice, Allen was good-looking and got a romantic picture. He studied in a conservatory in Cincinnati, before becoming a member of the lovely and advanced Hal Kemp Music group in 1933, and offering on the music group’s broadcasts over WGN radio from Chicago’s Dark Hawk Cafe. His effective vocal design contrasted well using the breathy, seductive delivery of Kemp’s top vocalist, Skinnay Ennis.
