Blue Rose

Blue Rose was a bluegrass combo that continued to break the original, male modes from the genre using its all-female lineup. The group was made up of dobroist Sally Vehicle Meter; renowned fiddler Laurie Lewis; banjoist Cathy Fink; your guitar and mandolin of Marcy Marxer; and bassist Molly Mason. Blue Rose’s lone launch was a self-titled affair on Sugars Hill in 1972; Fink and Lewis added lead vocals towards the project, including a swinging undertake the obscure Hank Williams quantity “Blue Like.”
