Blu

Along with his cool-headed SoCal demeanor and everyman charisma, Blu was championed in the onset of his documenting career when he collaborated with Emanon DJ/producer Exile for the highly acclaimed LP Below the Heavens (2007). Created Johnson Barnes in Inglewood, California, Blu, whose stepfather was a pastor, was affected by gospel and Christian rap when he was developing his MC abilities in middle and senior high school. His musical turning stage arrived when he 1st heard the normal classic “I Utilized to Like H.E.R.” (1994), aswell as the Chicago MC’s third recording, 1 DAY It’ll All SEEM SENSIBLE (1997). After that, Blu deserted his schoolyard freestyle mindset and devoted his capabilities to crafting well-written tracks. As he began doing live shows, he paid his dues operating as a buzz man for a number of underground rap and spirit performers, including Slum Community, Steve Spacek, Platinum Pied Pipers, and, obviously, Emanon. The previously unreleased albums Her Preferred Colo(U)r and NoYork! also finally found proper discharge in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Blu’s single album, Good to become Home, premiered by Nature Noises in 2014, and Poor Neighbor, a cooperation with MED and Madlib, made an appearance on Bang Ya Mind in 2015. The next year, Blu became a member of pushes with Nottz for the myth-inspired EP Titans in the Flesh.
