Bloodsport

Bloodsport were a lesser-known portion of Chicago’s post-hardcore punk picture from the ’80s, which produced rings want Naked Raygun, the Effigies, and Big Dark. Following a demise of his 1st band Hit Under, guitarist Chris Bjorklund met up with vocalist Dave Bergeron, bassist Tom Woods, and drummer Joe Haggerty (Haggerty’s sibling John played acoustic guitar in Nude Raygun). Sketching from a musical palette related to that from the Effigies (the Ruts, Getting rid of Joke, the Stranglers, Small Threat, etc.), Bloodsport released their only recording, I Am the overall game, within the prominent indie label Homestead in 1985. Dave Bergeron consequently left the music group, even though they continued to try out like a trio, their documenting career was efficiently over. In 1987, Bjorklund and Haggerty became a member of a revamped edition from the Effigies, with Bjorklund on bass; the next 12 months, Woods also authorized on as the bassist, and Bjorklund came back to acoustic guitar. The Effigies disbanded in 1990, and Haggerty united along with his sibling John in the punk-pop clothing Pegboy.
