Blocco Mentale

The memorably named Blocco Mentale were located in Viterbo, Italy, and so are best-remembered as exponents of this faintly folky prog blend familiar to fans of Comus and Gnidrolog. Intensely influenced, as well, by ecological issues, the group’s debut record, Poa (Greek for “lawn”) appeared in the Titania label in 1973, along with a one documented at the same periods (but absent in the LP), “L’amore muore a vent’anni”/”Lei è musica”. Neither received very much attention at that time, nevertheless, and Blocco Mentale faded from watch soon after.
