Blazin Fiddles

Modern Scottish fiddle band shaped in 1998 by fiddlers Catriona MacDonald (b. Shetland Isles, Scotland), Allan Henderson (b. Mallaig, Scotland), Iain MacFarlane (b. Glenfinnan, Lochaber, Scotland), Bruce MacGregor (b. Inverness, Scotland) and Aidan O’Rourke (b. Oban, Scotland) and Duncan Chisholm (b. 31 Oct 1968, Inverness, Scotland; also Wolfstone), with Marc Clement (electric guitar) and Andy Thorburn (piano) completing the line-up. The initial idea for the music group stemmed from a tour showcasing the abilities of the brand new era of highland and isle fiddlers. Having progressed into a completely fledged band by adding the experienced Chisholm, Clement and Thorburn, some excellent recordings implemented on the device’s very own Blazin’ Information imprint, although Chisholm departed following release from the 2002 debut Fireplace On! The music group also inaugurated the Blazin’ In Beauly musical workshop within the community of Beauly, near Inverness.
