Mixing dreamy indie rock and roll guitars with coed vocals and lush washes of appear, Blackstrap certainly are a shoegaze-inspired quintet from Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 2001 by frontman Jonatan Westh and organist Maria Lindén, the group crafted its audio for just two years before liberating a debut recording, Ghost Kids, in 2003. Even more touring followed, and a performance within the nationwide Swedish radio display P3. Blackstrap after that retreated to some bunker in Amsterdam to record Take My Horses and Operate, another recording of atmospheric, fuzzed-out rock and roll & move that evoked the noises of My Bloody Valentine and Spiritualized.
