Blackbird Blackbird may be the saving task of San Francisco-based electronic musician Mikey Maramag. His warm, textural synth pop and faraway, dreamy vocals recall functions like Four Tet and BEATEN UP, though Maramag’s origins are in fact in metallic and hardcore. Originally hailing from Hawaii, he relocated to North California and started his profession as the drummer for Bay Region hardcore music group Murder Practice. He remaining the band in ’09 2009 to wait the University or college of California in Santa Cruz where he required a pastime in digital music and became enamored with performers like Aphex Twin and Modeselektor. While aside at college he began documenting beneath the alias Bye Bye Blackbird, ultimately tweaking the name to Blackbird Blackbird after encountering another music group using the same name. He released numerous singles before issuing his debut recording, Summer time Heart, in middle-2010. His blissed-out, sun-drenched fantasy pop was well-received and he agreed upon with SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA indie Luxurious Habits release a his follow-up EP, 2012’s Boracay Globe. Travels of the U.S. and European countries implemented as he continuing to evolve his live set-up and in 2013, it had been announced he previously agreed upon to prominent SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA digital label Om Information who released his second LP, Tangerine Sky, in June 2014.
