Dark Twig Pickers function in the same basic template from the Appalachian string rings of the first 20th hundred years, reproducing and reinterpreting the timeless traditional hill catalog about banjo, acoustic guitar, fiddle, and washboard. The group provides released several unbiased albums, usually documented in living spaces or on back again porches, including North Folk Flyer (2001 on VHF Information), Big Banjo Blues (2002 on Klang Information), Shortly One Morning hours (2003 on VHF), Midnight Provides Come and Eliminated (2005 on VHF), Hobo Handshake (2008 on VHF), Glory in the Get together House (documented with Charlie Parr and released by Home of Mercy Recordings this year 2010), Ironto Particular (2010 on Thrill Jockey Information), Whompyjawed (2012 on Thrill Jockey), and Tough Carpenters (2013 on Thrill Jockey), amongst others. The group teamed with guitarist Steve Gunn for the live-in-studio time in past due 2014. Seasonal Hire included four primary music and one traditional piece, with Gunn as well as the group’s Gangloff and Sally Anne Morgan all acquiring turns on business lead vocals and songwriting.
