Black Submarine

Composed of Nick McCabe and Simon Jones, former users of ’90s alt-rockers the Verve, and curved away by multi-instrumentalist Davide Rossi, former Portishead drummer Michele Schillace, and vocalist Amelia Tucker, England’s Dark Submarine originally created beneath the moniker Dark Ships, which may be the name they utilized to concern their 2011 debut EP, Kurofune — a dispute having a U.S.-centered electronic duo resulted in the name change. Having a self-described mixture of “spaced-out vocals, deep beats, moving basslines, molten soundscapes, meditative chord sequences, and explosive string plans,” the recently minted Dark Submarine contributed materials to a 2013 Indonesian actions film starring Mickey Rourke before announcing the discharge date for his or her debut long-player, 2014’s self-released New Shores.
