Black Devil Disco Club

Primarily a one-off “collaboration” between French producer Bernard Fevre and alleged financier Jackie Giordano — credited, respectively, mainly because Joachim Sherylee and Junior Claristidge — Dark Devil released a six-track album of spooky electro-disco entitled Disco Club. Originally released on Italy’s Out label in 1978, it became relatively mythical within the disco underground because of its scarcity. A duplicate eventually fell in to the hands from the Rephlex label’s PP Roy and earned the hearts of Richard Adam (Aphex Twin) and Luke Vibert (Wagon Christ). Instead of do a directly reissue, Rephlex opted to first to push out a 12″ including four monitors from the initial vinyl; from then on, they annoyingly trickled out both other monitors, plus a few outtakes along with a remix from Luke Vibert (under his Kerrier Region guise), via 12″ and Compact disc single produces that highlighted different monitor lists. Fevre eventually issued several releases as Dark Devil Disco Membership, including 28 After (2006), Eight Oh Eight (2008), The Unusual ” NEW WORLD ” of Bernard Fevre (released in ’09 2009, featuring brand-new mixes of materials from Fevre’s 1975 record The Strange Globe of Bernard Fevre), and Circus (2011) which were released on Lo Recordings.
