Black Asteroid

Dark Asteroid may be the single guise of Bryan Dark, most widely known as one-half of commercial techno duo Engine. While MOTOR’s function is usually vocal-based and even more overtly influenced from the intense EBM audio of Nitzer Ebb and D.A.F., Dark Asteroid targets the dancefloor, with distorted, traveling techno beats and few, if any, vocals. Originally from Minneapolis, Dark worked well at Paisley Recreation area Studios like a audio developer for Prince and was an associate of ’90s commercial organizations H3llb3nt and Haloblack. He began MOTOR with previous bandmate Olivier Grasset, as well as the duo released a string of effective albums on NovaMute, Shitkatapult, and Dim Mak, furthermore to touring with Depeche Setting in ’09 2009. Dark Asteroid debuted in 2011 using the Engine EP, released by CLR (who consequently released MOTOR’s SYNTHETIC Machine full-length). Further EPs and remix 12″s adopted on CLR and Electric powered Deluxe, including Dark Acid solution (2012), Grind (2013), and Metallic (2014). Dark Asteroid remixed tunes by Depeche Setting, British Electric Basis, Marco Bailey, and many lesser-known techno manufacturers. The 2014 EP Dark Moon highlighted two tracks sung by Cool Cave’s Wesley Eisold. The EP’s name monitor anchored another EP, released in 2016 by Pitch Dark, which included extra mixes as well as the previously unreleased cut “Frantic.” In 2017, Dark Asteroid agreed upon to Last Gang and released the one “Howl,” offering vocals by Zola Jesus, before full-length debut Thrust.
