Experimental jazz outfit the Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet originally comprised saxophonists Amy Denio, Jessica Lurie, Marjorie DeMuynck, and Barbara J. Marino in cooperation with drummer Will Dowd. Called honoring musician Tipton — a longtime veteran from the jazz circuit who just in loss of life was exposed to have already been a female who spent her existence passing as a guy — the ensemble released their debut LP, Saxhouse, in 1992. From the launch of Box 3 years later on, DeMuynck and Dowd have been changed by saxophonist Maya Johnson and drummer Pam Barger. ALLOW IT TO BE Funky God adopted in 1997; Denio remaining the lineup another year, as well as the Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet quickly dissolved.
