Billy Butler

b. William George Butler, 24 January 1942, Amlwch, North Wales. Butler’s mom may have provided delivery in North Wales during wartime, but nobody offers deeper Scouse origins than Billy Butler. In the first 60s, he found national interest in the Spin-A-Disc -panel within the ITV program, Say thanks to Your Lucky Celebrities, and he produced an individual with Polly Perkins, “I Reckon You”. Butler produced guest appearances using the Merseybeats and he created his personal group, the Tuxedos. “We experienced humor unintentionally,” he says, “due to the cock-ups.” Butler was also the standard disc jockey in the Cavern golf club between 1964 and 1969. Despite many nationwide radio and tv programs, Butler’s forte is really as a regional disk jockey and radio presenter. He in addition has promoted several stage shows & most from the known Liverpool functions have fulfilled Butler on the method up. His BBC Radio Merseyside and Radio Town programs have drawn tremendous viewers, and tapes and video clips of the programs have sold a large number of copies (notably the “Keep Your Plums” quiz). His long-term maker and partner continues to be Wally Scott and their quick-fire wit helped keep carefully the program heading. Keeping it in the family members, Butler’s child, Lee, became a high golf club DJ. Every once in awhile and particularly through the annual Mathew Road Event, Billy Butler re-forms the Tuxedos.
