Billy Bremner

Biography

Billy Bremner was the guitarist for cult legends Rockpile, among the best traditional rock & move bands in Britain through the pub rock/fresh wave era. A indigenous of Scotland, Bremner had been a prominent program guitarist and pub rock and roll scenester when he became a member of Rockpile in 1976. As the group toured as its entity, its early studio room work mostly contains backing band market leaders Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe on the single albums; Rockpile didn’t launch an recording under its name until 1980’s Mere seconds of Pleasure, and disbanded the next yr. Bremner became a short-term replacement for past due Pretenders guitarist Wayne Honeyman-Scott, playing on many Understanding how to Crawl songs. In 1984, Bremner released his first-ever single album within the English department of Arista; Bash! was made by pub rock and roll mover’n’shaker Will Birch, but didn’t attract much interest. He relocated to LA to are a program musician, and in the first ’90s relocated to Nashville for the same purpose. Within the middle-’90s, he relocated to Sweden, where he used a traditional rock and roll & move combo known as the Refreshments (never to become puzzled with the American nerd rock-band of the same period); the group released their first recording in 1995, generating five studio room albums on the next six years and liberating a greatest-hits collection in 2001. In 1998, Bremner also documented his second single album, AN EXCELLENT Week’s Function, for Gadfly (normally, having a Swedish tempo section).
