Biography
b. Johnny Grimes, 21 November 1929, London, Kentucky, USA. Barton’s documenting profession was centred upon some 50s and early 60s paths designed for Abbott Information. As Hillbilly Barton he sang with Johnny Horton, ‘Someone Rockin’ IN MY OWN Broken Seat’ and ‘Betty Lorraine’. Utilizing the same name, but performing alone, he documented ‘Strange Passion’, ‘She’s AN EXCELLENT Ole Gal’, ‘No Curiosity’ and ‘Under no circumstances Pleased’. As Billy Barton, he produced ‘My Darlin’ Liza Lou’, ‘You Produced Me Like You’, ‘Blues In Blue FROM THE Evening’ and ‘You WILL BE In My Center’. With Wanda Wayne, he cut ‘I Cried My Eye Out Over You’, ‘What’s THE PROBLEM With Me’, ‘The Globe Called Appreciate’ and ‘You’re You’. Ultimately, Barton and Wayne had been wedded. He also documented for other little independent brands, including Fire Information and Gulf Information. Among the tracks documented for these brands had been ‘Doorway To Heaven’, ‘A Time Late PLUS A Money Brief’ and ‘Monkey Business’. A few of these tracks were recorded utilizing the name Billy Youngster Barton. He also documented as Laurel London, a name he found in 1962 for ‘Don’t Knock The Rock and roll’ and ‘My Conscience And I’. Although Barton’s documenting profession was low-key following the early 60s, he was in no way finished with the united states music business. He was mixed up in early career from the Stoneman Family members, assisting them gain approval in the Grand Ole Opry. Two family, Donna and Jimmy, got at once performed in Barton’s music group. Barton’s songwriting abilities continued to draw in the eye of better-known performers. For instance, ‘Dear John’ (‘Dear John Notice’), created in cooperation with Charles ‘Fuzzy’ Owens and Lewis A. Talley, was documented like a duet by Jean Shepard and Ferlin Husky, learning to be a #1 1 country strike in 1953, and by Ernest Tubb and Loretta Lynn. It had been also recorded single by Pat Boone in 1960. Another track, ‘Donna On My Brain’, was successful for Wynn Stewart.
