The music of SOUTH USA was deeply influenced by Billo (born Billo Luis María Frometa) and his group the Caracas Boys. A lot more than six years after Billo formed the ensemble, they continue steadily to perform their dance-inspiring design of Latin music. A indigenous from the Dominican Republic, Billo shown musical skill at an extremely early age. While still in primary school, he well balanced his academic research with daily lessons at an area music academy. He analyzed music theory and solfeggio with Sixto Brea, tranquility and structure with Rafael Pimentel, and saxophone and clarinet with Oguis Negrete. At age 15, he founded and aimed an orchestra in the town of Trujillo. Shifting to the administrative centre town in 1933, Billo worked well as a acoustic guitar instructor. Although he remaining music to review medicine in the University or college of Santo Domingo, he resumed his musical profession after 3 years. Regarding his orchestra, Billo sailed to Venezuela on Dec 26, 1937, to simply accept the residency in the Resort Madrid in Caracas. Although they briefly disbanded in 1939 when Billo approached typhus, the group re-formed almost a year later. A larger setback was signaled from the collapse of the federal government led by General Perez Jimenez in 1958. Relocating to Cuba, Billo documented with local music artists. He came back to Caracas 2 yrs later. Billo’s programs to perform using the Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela in the Theater Teresa Carreno dissolved when he experienced a coronary attack on Apr 27, 1988, and passed away seven days later. Users of Billo & His Caracas Kids joined collectively to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary in 1990.
