Shaped by Santo Domingo-born Billo Frometa soon after he relocated to Caracas, Venezuela, in 1937, Billo’s Caracas Boys continue steadily to perform their particular make of Afro-Cuban-influenced music as resident strap at the Roofing Garden of Resort Madrid. Affected by such Cuban rings as Orquesta Del Gambling establishment De La Plaza, Billo’s Caracas Males constructed their early repertoire on a variety of guarachos, boleros, merengues, and joropos. Frometa continuing to business lead the group until his loss of life in 1990.
