Bill Smith

Bill Smith is just about the most obscure documented early person in the Quarry Guys, the group that evolved in to the Beatles. He was one of the men (Len Garry, Nigel Whalley, and Ivan Vaughan had been others) to try out tea upper body bass, a musical instrument common to skiffle ensembles, in the music group sooner or later. Smith was evidently just in the group for a little bit before being changed by Len Garry when he proceeded to go away to ocean.
