Expenses Boyd (b. 29 Sept 1910, Fannin Region, Tx, USA, d. 7 Dec 1977, Dallas, Tx, USA; vocals, acoustic guitar) and sibling Jim (b. 28 Sept 1914, Fannin State, Tx, USA, d. 11 March 1993; bass) initial appeared on radio together in Greenville in 1926, before they relocated to Dallas in 1929 and shaped a music group called Alexander’s Daybreakers. In Feb 1932, Bill performed electric guitar for Jimmie Rodgers’ Dallas recordings of ‘Move Along Kentucky Moon’ and ‘Hobo’s Deep breathing’. Soon after this, with Jim, Artwork Davis and Walter Kirkes, he produced the Cowboy Ramblers. Mainly a recording music group, with associates also playing in various other groups sometimes, they first documented for Bluebird in 1934, sketching their music from nation, jazz and pop. Their most effective documenting was a edition of a vintage German instrumental march, ‘Under The Increase Eagle’, where Boyd’s guitar business lead was complemented by Davis’ blue-sounding fiddle. The Cowboys elevated afterwards to a 10-piece traditional western swing band, made an appearance in films, documented thoroughly for Bluebird and had been immensely well-known in the Dallas region. Boyd, who shouldn’t be baffled with cowboy professional William Boyd, hosted his very own present on WRR Dallas for quite some time. He retired in the music business immediately after producing his last recordings in Feb 1950. Jim made an appearance mainly along with his sibling as an associate from the Cowboy Ramblers, although he was also an associate from the Light Crust Doughboys (1938-39) and Males Of The Western (1949-51).
