Along with his music group the Dynaflows, Maher provides toured a lot of the U.S. Big Joe & the Dynaflows focus on some sort of shuffle-heavy, swing-based blues you could dance to. Big Joe grew up in suburban Washington, DC, hearing records his dad liked to try out on the family members stereo system. This included recordings by B.B. Ruler, Small Milton Campbell, and Louis Jordan. By his past due teenagers, he was out hearing live blues at nightclubs in D.C., simply because he had began playing drums in his early teenagers. Being a drummer and vocalist, Maher will take his musical cues from a bunch of affects, including Big Joe Turner, Louis Jordan, Roy Dark brown, B.B. Ruler, Small Milton Campbell, and Wynonie Harris. After graduating senior high school within the DC region, Maher continued the road along with his very own blues-based jazz trio and over time, he’s accompanied famous brands Jimmy Witherspoon, Bull Moose Jackson, Adam “Thunderbird” Davis, Nappy Dark brown, Otis Hurry, Earl Ruler, Duke Robillard, as well as other guitarists and performers. Back home within the DC region, he spent many years on tour using the Tom Principato Music group and then shaped his personal five-piece leap blues group, Big Joe & the Dynaflows. After some touring with this group, he got a job that could keep him house more regularly as musical movie director for Fleetwood’s, Mick Fleetwood’s nightclub in Alexandria, VA. Albums by Big Joe & the Dynaflows consist of I’m Still Swingin’ and FOREVER Miss the Maryland-based Severn Information, released in 1998 and 2000, respectively. I’m Still Swingin’ contains innovative addresses of music by B.B. Ruler, Ray Charles, and Crescent Town songwriter/maker Dave Bartholomew. Previously produces from his music group include Layin’ within the Alley for the (defunct) New Orleans-based BlackTop Information label. The music group also documented their first launch, Great Rockin’ Daddy for the Powerhouse Information label (possessed by Tom Principato) and released Awesome Dynaflow to get a label in European countries. In 1995, Maher documented Mojo, with bassist Jeff Sarli along with a group of DC region music artists for Mapleshade Information. Mojo features traditional blues tunes within a stripped down, acoustic setting with laid-back grooves. Maher works together with two groups, the best Three Trio or the Big Four Combo and travels throughout the U.S., Canada, and in European countries. Being a drummer and vocalist, he in addition has documented albums with others. His sessionography credits consist of albums by Bob Margolin’s The Aged College, Principato’s In Orbit, Tag Wenner (from the Nighthawks) Nothin’ But, and Ann Rabson’s (of Saffire – The Uppity Blues Girl) Music Makin’ Mama.
