Brisbane, Australia’s Big Large Stuff formed in 1990, comprising drummer Darren Atkinson, guitarist/vocalist Greg Atkinson, bassist Darren Jones (ex-Dutiful Daughters), and guitarist/vocalist Carolyn Polley (ex-Toys Went Berserk). The Atkinsons got spent area of the past due ’80s within the Good and the bad, a jangle pop music group. Inspired by British dream pop as well as the noisier self-employed scene within the U.S., they opted to create Big Large Stuff, a brainy rock-band with perfectionist tendencies. BHS debuted using the Pops CONSTANTLY EP on Volition in 1991. Several singles preceded their 1st full-length, 1993’s formative Pickup truck. The tempo section left following its discharge and was changed by bassist Eliot Seafood (ex-Apartments, Templebears) and drummer Nick Kennedy (Knievel). Two even more CD EPs had been dispersed between 1994 and early 1997. In 1995, the music group received their just U.S. discharge using the Birthday one (two songs in the Protected in Bruises EP), released on Jawbox’s DeSoto label. Optimum Honest, the band’s highly regarded second LP, premiered in middle-1997 on Hypnotized/Surprise. Four even more singles for the label had been issued through the calendar year. Adam Teen (ex-Daisygrinders) changed the departed Polley, who still left a couple a few months following the album’s discharge. Agreed upon with V2 subsidiary Ivy Group, 1999 saw the discharge from the Devil’s Tongue one. An LP for the band’s brand-new label never noticed the light of time. With an album’s value of material finished but shelved for over per year, the band ultimately arrived on Redline, who released 2001’s Size of the Sea.
