Big Allanbik

THE BEST Allanbik blues band appeared in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro and had been releasing its first Compact disc, Blues Particular Reserve within the next 12 months. The next one, Black Espresso (1994), premiered through the Nescafé and Blues Event (São Paulo), where Robert Cray, Lonnie Brooks, Otis Clay, Ronnie Earl, Robben Ford, and Eric Burdon also performed. Two years later on the band visited the U.S., playing in the Blue Notice (NY, NY) with the Tobacco Street (Miami, FL). In Chicago they used Duke Robillard at Friend Guy’s Legends and with Lonnie Brooks in the Chicago Blue Notice. Their third recording, Batuque y Blues (1998), made by Bob Stander, combined a Brazilian percussion to traditional rock and roll and blues. In the same 12 months, the music group performed in the Metropolitan hall in Rio four occasions, on a single night time that Steve Winwood and B.B. Ruler performed. In São Paulo that they had gigs in the Palace and additional major nightclubs. In the Parque perform Ibirapuera they do a show on a single day time that Johnny Streams performed for over 70,000 people.
