Best known on her behalf 1967 R&B chart-topper “Make Me personally Yours,” Southern spirit chanteuse Bettye Swann was created Betty Jean Champ in Shreveport, Louisiana on Oct 24, 1944. She 1st surfaced through the early 1960s as an associate from the Fawns before mounting a single profession in 1964 using the Carolyn Franklin-penned “Don’t Wait around TOO MUCH TIME,” the to begin some Arthur Wright-produced singles for the impartial LA label Cash. “THE PERSON HAVING SAID THAT No” and “The Heartache IS FULLY GONE” adopted in 1965, and 2 yrs later, Swann came back with the beautiful “Make Me Yours,” which also offered as the name on her behalf first full-length LP. 1967 noticed the discharge of three additional money singles — “Love Me,” “Don’t Appear Back again,” and “I BELIEVE I’m Dropping in Like” — as the following 12 months heralded a jump to main label Capitol for “My Center Is Shut for the growing season.” The follow-up, “Don’t Contact Me,” was the first solitary released from Swann’s second long-player, The Spirit View Now; NOT Ever Get Sick and tired of Hurting Me? adopted in 1969, highlighted from the small hit “Small Things Mean a whole lot.” Following a one-off solitary for Popularity, 1971’s “I’m Simply Living a Lay,” Swann got at Atlantic; her label debut, “Victim of a bad Foolish Heart,” damaged the R&B Best 20 in 1972, and was revived over three years later on by blue-eyed spirit upstart Joss Rock.
