Biography

Beto Cuevas, popular for his 17-yr tenure because the frontman from the Grammy-winning Latin alternative rock-band La Ley, embarked on a single career following the band’s separation in 2005 and released his debut album, Miedo Escénico, in 2008. Given birth to Luis Alberto Cuevas Olmedo on Sept 12, 1967, in Santiago, Chile, he was raised in Montreal, Canada, where his family members fled through the reign of Augusto Pinochet. In the past due ’80s Cuevas came back to Chile and became a member of the lineup of La Ley, that was amid a lineup shuffle. After the fresh lineup was finalized with Cuevas set up because the band’s frontman, La Ley produced their full-length recording debut in 1989 with Desiertos on EMI. Although recording demonstrated unsuccessful — heading pretty much unreleased, actually — the music group ultimately broke to mainstream achievement using the follow-up record Doble Opuesto (1990) and its own chart-topping English-language cover from the Moving Rocks’ 1973 traditional “Angie.” Following albums La Ley (1992), Unseen (1995), and Vértigo (1998) set up the band among the leading choice rock groupings in Latin music. In addition they set up Cuevas as an extraordinary songwriter and a superstar frontman. La Ley’s top achievement came throughout the convert of the hundred years using the Grammy-winning albums Uno (2000) and MTV Unplugged (2001). Following the band’s break up in 2005, Cuevas embarked on a single profession, basing himself in LA and collaborating with companies Steve Tushar (from the commercial metal band Dread Stock) and Aureo Baqueiro (whose credits consist of blockbuster albums by Alejandro Fernández and Sin Bandera, amongst others). Released in 2008 on Warner Bros. Information, Cuevas’ full-length single debut record, Miedo Escénico, was preceded with the business lead one “Vuelvo,” a high Ten strike throughout the majority of Latin America.
