Vocalist/songwriter Beth Thornley combines vintage noises of ’70s pop/rock and roll using the earnestness of Aimee Mann and Beth Orton on her behalf own playful sort of sweetness. The Alabama-born Thornley, who gained a traditional music degree, got in LA in the past due ’90s with her places set on producing her rock and roll & move dreams become a reality. In between different music careers, Thornley documented her first record, a self-titled work that was released on her very own Stiff Sides imprint in 2002. “I’LL Rest” was selected as a rock and roll category finalist within the 2003 USA Songwriting Competition. 3 years afterwards, Thornley returned using the confident, genre-blending My Cup Eye. In the meantime, her songs had been featured in shows of Gorgeous People, Dawson’s Creek, Felicity, and Scrubs while also showing up on an ideal Guy and Between film soundtracks. Her third full-length record, the mercurial Clean U Clean, found its way to 2010, and 2 yrs afterwards, Poor Apples, a well-received stage musical Thornley co-wrote with regular collaborator Rob Cairns, premiered on the Group X Theater in LA. In 2014 she released the EP Septagon, offering “Last to Fall,” a tune she co-wrote with Glen Phillips of Toad the Moist Sprocket and which also made an appearance on that band’s middle-2015 EP, Architect from the Spoil, sung by Phillips. Thornley’s very own 2015 EP, the Americana-inspired EVERYTHING THAT Longing, premiered afterwards that season. Her music stayed certified for film and tv, including Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike, Female happening, NBC’s Friday Evening Lighting, and USA Network’s Royal Discomfort.
