Bertha Hope

Although she recorded three piano duets with her spouse Elmo Hope in 1961, few knew that Bertha Hope was a talented pianist until her 1992 Minor Music launch Between Two Kings. She was raised in California, began studying traditional piano when she was three, became thinking about jazz with the playing of Bud Powell, and in the past due ’50s worked well in LA clubs having a trio. Bertha was wedded to Elmo Wish from 1960 until his loss of life in 1967, but place her own profession on keep until re-emerging in the first ’90s.
