Bert & Ray were the duo of Hyperlink Wray (aka Bert) on acoustic guitar and Ray Scearce on metal, who have did a rare instrumental solitary for the Alpine label in 1960, “Evening Life”/”Slow Move.” “Evening Life” is a simple R&B-influenced chugger with a solid resemblance to Costs Doggett’s “Honky Tonk,” while “Gradual Move” gets even more in to the Santo & Johnny mildew, featuring Scearce’s gradual steel. Both monitors had been reissued on the hyperlink Wray compilation Slinky! The Epic Periods 1958-1961.
