Naturalist and audio recordist Dr. Bernie Krause initial surfaced through the early ’60s as Pete Seeger’s substitute in the renowned folk group the Weavers; by the center of the 10 years he was functioning as an employee manufacturer at Elektra Information, in 1968 teaming with jazz musician Paul Beaver to record the LP The non-esuch Information to Electronic Music, a groundbreaking excursion into experimental noises and textures which produced innovative usage of early synthesizers. The duo of Beaver & Krause continued to record some electronic records prior to the previous experienced a fatal coronary attack in early 1975; within the wake of his partner’s loss of life, Krause considered presiding over his organization Crazy Sanctuary, Inc., a business specialized in, among other topics, terrestrial and sea bio-acoustic saving and evaluation. In 1979, he also released his debut single record, Citadels of Secret. Krause spent the first ’80s learning the research of bio-acoustics all over the place from Alaska to Kenya, documenting environmental noises from all sides of the world. In 1985, he gained international interest when his recordings of humpback whale noises proved effective in luring a dropped whale called Humphrey from from the Sacramento River Delta back again to the Pacific Sea. Krause also helped develop the Intelligent AUDIO SYSTEM, referred to as “an computerized system for open public exhibitions and installations that creates nonredundant audio recreations from the environment.” Additionally, he released a large number of environmental recordings spanning from Seems of the Summer’s Evening to Amazon Times, Amazon Evenings to Ocean Amazing things.
