Blessed Neville Bernard Collins in Jamaica in November 10, 1948, Bernard Collins grew up in Kingston, although he also spent 6 years in Saint Catherine even though his mom was employed in London. He produced the renowned Abyssinians in 1968 with Donald Manning, plus they added Donald’s sibling Lynford Manning a short while later to finish the trio. The Abyssinians stay perhaps one of the most revered and well known of Jamaica’s root base reggae harmony groupings, having slice the long lasting “Satta Massa Ganna” at Studio room One in 1969 (when it had been referred to as “Far A LONG WAY AWAY”). Rechristened “Satta” in 1971, the melody (and tempo) have already been protected and versioned countless situations since. The Abyssinians officially split up in 1983, arriving jointly in 1988 for a few studio periods that again discovered the trio parting methods. For a while Collins as well as the Manning brothers toured with two split groups known as the Abyssinians, and there were periodic reunions of the initial members in old age. Collins released a single album, Last Times, in 1998.
