Bern Elliot

“Cash” was a staple from the group of most Uk Invasion rings. Oddly, the just group to truly have a U.K. strike single using the track was the obscure one-shot clothing Bern Elliot & the Fenmen. Elliot’s edition entered the English Top Twenty close to the end of 1963; it wasn’t a patch around the Beatles’ rendition (which have been released at a comparable time on the second LP), nonetheless it was in fact a pretty good, soulful interpretation. Elliot and his back-up group performed in sort of difficult Merseybeat design (although they weren’t from your Mersey), and Bern was a fairly decent R&B-influenced vocalist, somewhat such as the Dave Clark Five’s Mike Smith. Elliot & the Fenmen produced several singles and an EP without the more notable achievement; their reliance upon aged R&B/rock music for the entirety of their repertoire produced them very quickly passe, even though songs were carried out pretty much. Elliot dropped out using the Fenmen in 1964, and briefly teamed up using the Klan, aswell as placing out some orchestrated pop single singles in 1965. The Fenmen continued their personal and made several singles for Decca and CBS inside a tranquility pop/rock design, highlighted by the initial minor-keyed tune “Turned down.” Following the demise from the Fenmen, associates Wally Allen and John Povey became a member of the Pretty Factors, in time for this group’s psychedelic recordings.
