Berlin RIAS Chamber Choir

Founded in 1948, the RIAS-Kammerchor (RIAS Chamber Choir) offers played an essential role in the revival from the musical life of the town of Berlin. Regularly heard in cooperation using the Berlin Radio Symphony as well as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the choir continues to be led by conductors Ferenc Fricsay, Karl Böhm, Herbert von Karajan, Lorin Maazel, Claudio Abbado, Wayne Levine, and Daniel Barenboïm. The choir in addition has made a niche of shows of early music beneath the baton of such conductors as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, John Eliot Gardiner, Frans Brueggen, Roger Norrington, and René Jacobs. Under primary conductor Marcus Creed, the choir also individually performs as an a cappella chamber choir.
