Venice, California-based thrashers Beowulf (never to end up being confused with the sooner, L.A.-structured hard rockers with the same name) shaped in 1984 and included singer/guitarist Dale Henderson, guitarist Mike Jensen, bassist Paul Yemada, and drummer Michael Alvarado. Friendly right away with regional legends Suicidal Tendencies, the quartet added two monitors to 1985’s Suicidal Information’ compilation Thanks for visiting Venice, and quickly documented and released their self-titled debut a calendar year later. This is accompanied by 1988’s Shed My Mind…But I’m Back on the right course LP, that was issued through Caroline Records and featured a thrashy version of Smokey Robinson’s “Cruising.” They released 2¢ in 1995 and made a decision to decide to part a short while afterwards. They re-formed in 2000 and released Westminster & 5th in 2007.
