Biography

A vaudeville performer barely into his teenagers, lyricist Benny Davis composed a huge selection of songs through the heyday of Tin Skillet Alley. Though just “Baby Encounter” became an internationally standard, strikes like “Don’t Break the center That Enjoys You,” “There Moves My Heart,” and “WITH ONE OF THESE Hands” were protected often by essential vocalists up to the middle-’60s. Blessed in NEW YORK in 1895, Davis was in the vaudeville circuit before 1910 and afterwards toured as Blossom Seeley’s accompanist. He started composing songs on the way and composed several successful music through the early ’20s before his biggest achievement, “Baby Encounter,” in 1926. He have scored the Broadway present Sons o’ Weapons in 1929, and continuing composing moderate period strikes until the middle-’30s. Voted to the Songwriters Hall of Popularity, Davis resided in Miami until his loss of life in 1979.
