Benny & Bjorn

Benny Andersson (b. Dec 16, 1946, Sweden) and Bjorn Ulvaeus (b. Apr 25, 1945, Sweden) had been both members of the past due-’60s Swedish pop group known as the Hep Celebrities. Departing that group, they created a duo, Benny and Bjorn, and released one recording, Lycka, in 1970. Then they teamed with Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad to create ABBA, which became probably one of the most effective pop sets of the 1970s. After ABBA split up in 1982, Andersson and Ulvaeus collaborated with English lyricist Tim Grain to write the idea recording/stage musical Chess.
