Merging the eclecticism of Beck, the pop-based experimentation from the Flaming Lips, as well as the bushy undesired facial hair of Rip Van Winkle, Benji Hughes can be an eccentric singer/songwriter hailing from Charlotte, NC. A previous housepainter, Hughes became a member of the roster of New Western world Records through the mid-2000s, having wooed leader Cameron Strang along with his diverse songcraft and capability to deal with multiple tools. Hughes after that decamped to Silverlake, CA, where he crafted his debut recording alongside maker Keefus Ciancia and songwriter Gus Seyffert. Priscilla Ahn, a fellow L.A.-centered songwriter, performed among Hughes’ songs on her behalf debut album in June 2008; a month later on, Hughes produced his personal debut using the ambitious two-disc A Like Extreme. In 2015 he inked a cope with Merge and going back to the studio to begin with work on a fresh full-length. The ensuing Songs in the main element of Animals lowered in early 2016.
