Benjamin Clementine

Pianist, vocalist, and songwriter Benjamin Clementine didn’t grow up within a music household. Totally self-taught, he was motivated with a televised functionality by Antony & the Johnsons and, around once, his initial encounter using the music of Erik Satie. Ahead of his 20th birthday, Clementine relocated from his hometown of London, Britain to Paris, France, where he backed himself by busking. A realtor found out Clementine and place him touching his future supervisor. A overall performance at Cannes captured the attention of the businessman; collectively, they founded the Behind label. Clementine produced his documented debut in 2013 with Cornerstone, a impressive three-track EP of poetic, piano-and-voice ballads that prompted evaluations to Antony Hegarty and Nina Simone. An appearance on BBC Two’s Later on…with Jools Holland exposed him to a much bigger audience. Another EP, Glorious You — which he was followed by unobtrusive bass, drums, and strings — premiered in 2014. Authorized to Barclay in France (and Virgin EMI in the U.K.), he released At Least for the present time, his debut recording, in 2015.
