Biography

Retro-rocker Ben Vaughn enticed interest for his faithful re-creations of pre-Beatles rock and roll & move, pop, and root base music, which had been filtered through his quirky love of life. Vaughn was raised in Philadelphia and performed drums in the neighborhood punk music group the Sickidz in 1980. 2 yrs later, root base rockers the Morells documented his structure “THE PERSON THAT HAS Everything” on the acclaimed Tremble and Push record. Vaughn began experimenting Philadelphia using a music group dubbed the Ben Vaughn Combo, steadily branching out into other areas from the Northeast. His initial album, THE COUNTLESS Moods of Ben Vaughn, premiered in 1986 within the U.K. imprint Producing Waves and soon thereafter was certified for American launch by Restless. It received enthusiastic evaluations, and Marshall Crenshaw protected its “I AM SORRY (But So Is definitely Brenda Lee)” on his Downtown recording. The follow-up, Gorgeous Thing, made an appearance in 1987, once again to positive response, and Vaughn authorized a permanent cope with Restless; following its launch, the Combo elected to disband, and Vaughn became a genuine solo designer. Blows YOUR BRAIN premiered in 1988, and its own 1990 follow-up, Dressed up in Black, featured visitor looks by Crenshaw, John Hiatt, the Violent Femmes’ Gordon Gano, Alex Chilton, and nation duo Foster & Lloyd. For the time being, Vaughn’s desire for musical history resulted in some part gigs like a compiler and maker. He added to retrospective produces on Johnny Otis and Joe South and created albums by cult legends Charlie Feathers and Arthur Alexander, amongst others. He also obtained two documentary movies, Preferred Mopar (about muscle mass vehicles) and Crazy Girls Go Proceed Rama, and spent a while in Nashville composing tunes with Rodney Crowell and Expenses Lloyd. For the time being, Restless released the compilation Feeling Swings in 1992. Vaughn’s following documenting was a addresses recording, Mono USA, which made an appearance on Pub/None of them in 1994. He adopted it in 1995 with Instrumental Stylings, an eclectic recording that incorporated items of his film ratings, along with a collaborative work with Kim Fowley dubbed Kings of Sunday Night. Thanks partly to Instrumental Stylings, he was tapped to compose the surf-style theme music for it sitcom Third Rock and roll from sunlight and finished up earning a composer’s honor from BMI for this. A lot of the music from Instrumental Stylings was eventually presented on the display at once or another. Vaughn continued to serve as music movie director for the ’70s Show aswell and came back with a fresh recording in 1997; Rambler 65 was documented with an eight-track studio room setup in Vaughn’s classic car of the same name. He came back in 2006 with Styles in Music, a assortment of film designs for movies which exist just in Vaughn’s creativity. The archival collection The Prehistoric Ben Vaughn implemented in 2007, and in 2014, he came back to actions with Texas Street Trip, a assortment of primary tunes recorded using a music group of Lone Superstar legends, including Augie Meyers from the Sir Douglas Quintet.
