Ben Pollack

Ben Pollack was a talented drummer and a straight better bandleader, with an excellent ear for skill but none from the luck had a need to store his discoveries. He generally proved helpful without ever quite striking the big style himself; but his rings from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s included such potential luminaries as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Jimmy McPartland, Harry Adam, Yank Lawson, Muggsy Spanier, Jack port Teagarden, Joe Marsala, Eddie Miller, Frank Teschemacher, Dick Cathcart, Irving Fazola, Freddie Slack, and Bud Freeman. Pollack was created in Chicago, to a family group in the hair business. He enjoyed music, nevertheless, and used the drums in college. He performed drums in a variety of high-school groupings and an all-city music group, and also found occasional use professional clothes while still in his teenagers.
